Born in Leningrad, the USSR, in 19**, Ranevskaya Barbara N. graduated from the Department of Philosophy of Leningrad's Lenin's Order and Labor Red Banner A.A. Zhdanov State University with honours. Besides a long and distingushed academic career as a professor and tutor, Barbara Ranevskaya has been active in different aspects of life of the country, and some other countries. This combination of interests gives her her unique quality as a leading contemporary thinker. Ranevskaya is one of the few philosophers of our time who is able to communicate from her special field to the public at large. So her realistic good slam-bang stories punctuated with tongue-in-cheek naughty bits could be called an easy intellectual reading. That's why all of her bestsellers became an immediate success.
